Galleries are to Madison as tank tops are to Hooters. So we also better bring ...

Two artists: One impressionist, one expressionist. We'll have each sit on the Snow Ark's deck and paint a polar bear in a snow storm. Let the sparks fly!

Two people who never shovel their walks.

Nah, we 'll leave them behind.

Ahoy! All ashore who's going ashore!

Mayor Dave's picks:

If I were to suggest others that might need a place on the ark, I'd recommend:

- Two Ph.D. cab drivers.

- One Mike Huckabee supporter

(unrealistic to find two).

- Two people to suggest that we keep the bars open all night as the answer to every municipal problem.

- Two people from every city committee and commission (this adds up to 1.5 million people).

Smartphones Patented... Just About Everyone Sued 1 Minute After Patent ...

I would just like to forewarn everyone that I am going to be filing a new patent that will boldly drive innovation and make me stinking rich while simultaneously crushing the patent industry. I will be patenting 'patents'. Prepare to have your a$$es sued! I will also be filing a patent on the question mark so I can sue anyone that questions me. PS And maybe that inflection at the end of your voice when you ask questions so I have text and speech covered.

prior art or another target by another mike on Jan 25th, 2008 @ 10:43am

"a mobile entertainment and communication device...with removable storage, an internet connection, a camera and the ability to download audio or video files." I'd submit my Samsung a920 cell phone as prior art but that might get Samsung added to the list of targets.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Gary Coleman Paid? Foxy Free? Budden Calls Jay-Z ...

Foxy is using whatever means she can to get out of Rikers Island. The latest is she recently met with the presiding judge and there is a glimmer of hope. The only doctor that has been able to help Foxy and her ear situation is located in California. As expected the DA was hating, saying that there should be no sentence reduction even of Fox was dying. The judge will rule later in the month.

BROOKE HOGAN LEAVES SCOTT STORCH?

I don't know what kind of contract Brooke Hogan had with Scott Storch. I would assume the Hulkster can get her out off any contract –even Scott Storch. Well, Brooke has a myspace page that has her record label status as, “Trying to find a good one!" She signed to Scott Storch's Storchavelli Records in 2006 and hasn't done a lot musically.

Restoration of islands in Lake of the Isles set to begin

Weather and ice conditions permitting, forestry crews will begin restoration work on the islands in Minneapolis' Lake of the Isles next week.

Non-native, invasive shrub species such as buckthorn and mulberry, as well as half-fallen trees that create safety hazards, will be cut down and burned to prepare for restoration of the islands' native habitat.

Crews will start on Mike's Island and move onto Raspberry Island as time and conditions permit. Four crews will work in various sections of the island, creating multiple burn sites. They also will treat buckthorn stumps with herbicide.

Large dead trees that are standing will be left, as they provide wildlife habitat.

The majority of downed trees along the island shorelines also will be left because of their habitat value for fish and shore birds.

It's a Wonderful - and Disturbing - iLife

This latest release of iLife, Apple's suite of creativity-minded software, has some dazzling improvements, but it has lost, especially with the new iMovie, some of the intuitive ease of prior versions. Nevertheless, iLife '08 will reinforce Apple's position as a leader in digital lifestyle applications.
