Her attitude seems to be a spillover (towards all men) from her loathing of Bill and his philandering. Had she not needed him to (eventually) be viable for the Presidency, she would have dumped him years ago. Xacti HD1a HD camcorder adds wide display, more
Sanyo on Thursday introduced the Xacti HD1a, a compact digital media camera that records both still pictures and digital video. It does it all onto an SD flash memory card. The Xacti HD1a is coming in September for $699.99. The Xacti HD1a records video in 720p and grabs 5.1 megapixel still images. Because it uses SD cards instead of bulky tapes or optical media, it's much more compact than other camcorders. It uses a 10x optical zoom lens and 2.2-inch LCD display. New features in the HD1a include a 16:9 widescreen still picture mode, in-camera video editing, a 30 frames-per-second 320 x 240 MPEG-4 pixel video recording mode called “Web-SHQ," optimized for the video iPod. The 16:9 still image mode grabs 3.8 megapixel images in the same wide-screen format as the Xacti HD1's digital videos.

Facebook opens up its Platform
Facebook senior platform manager Ami Vora wrote in a blog: "[We] want to share the benefits of our work by enabling other social sites to use our platform architecture as a model. In fact, we'll even license the Facebook Platform methods and tags to other platforms." A developer page stated "the 100,000 developers currently building Facebook applications can make their applications available on other social sites with no extra work". In the official wording from Facebook, the social network is "making its platform architecture available as a model for other social sites" and sees this as the natural evolution of a constantly changing product. This announcement comes in the wake of three OpenSocial partners -- Bebo, Friendster and LinkedIn -- all releasing their own developer platform initiatives independent of the Google-run program.
Dozens Sought in Mob Raids in US, Italy
The operation, code-named "Old Bridge," was centered on New York and the Sicilian capital of Palermo, targeting Mafia figures who were strengthening contacts between mob groups in Italy and the United States. A federal grand jury in New York also accused 62 people of ties to the Gambino crime family and offenses including murders, drug trafficking, robberies, extortion, and other crimes dating back to the 1970s. "Today we are able to bring closure to crimes from the past," U.S. Attorney Benton Campbell said in Brooklyn. "Today we seek justice for those men and their families and we make clear that those crimes and those victims are not forgotten." The sprawling indictment covers gangland killings from the days when the crime family was run by Paul Castellano, who was assassinated in 1985.
