| Reader Exchange: WWII vet seeking Legionnaire shirt
Jeanne Turner of New Port Richey is hoping a REXer will make a disabled World War II veteran, soon to be 83, very happy. He is a member of the American Legion and would like to participate in several services the Legion holds, but he needs to dress the part. That means he needs a white short-sleeved shirt, size 151/2, with the required emblems on collar and sleeves. Jeanne asks if there is a Legionnaire out there who may have put on some weight and now can't button his shirt or who would be willing to give a fellow soldier that shirt off his back, so to speak. Jeanne may be reached at 727 846-8540. Robin Elder of Largo needs help inlocating an organization to which she could donate a collection of Longaberger baskets. During the past few years Robin has collected a number of these baskets, all beautiful and in excellent condition.

Atlantic recording artist Shadows Fall has received a Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance for the song "Redemption" off their critically acclaimed label debut, THREADS OF LIFE. Shadows Fall frontman Brian Fair said the following: "We walked off stage in Milan Italy last night after a killer set on the Black Crusade tour and my phone started buzzing. After cracking a beer I checked my message and was absolutely shocked and amazed to find out that we had been nominated for our second Grammy!!! Redemption has been nominated in the best metal performance category for this year and I could not be more proud. The song is a celebration of the power of music and the human voice as an agent of change and to have it recognized in such a way is incredible. We were able to celebrate last night with our brothers in Machinehead who were also nominated.

Last year, I bought myself a very expensive, very big, very hi-tech digital SLR camera. Its a stunning piece of technology, and with it (supposedly) I can take beautiful shots of the most breath-taking professional quality. Unfortunately, Ive probably used it about three times in the last year, because its the size of a small toaster, takes ages to assemble, and is so delicate you dare not take it anywhere. .
When Change Is Not Enough: The Seven Steps to Revolution
In the face of this reversal, Davies tells us, it's not at all surprising that the national mood is turning ominous, from one end of the political spectrum to the other. However, he warns us: this may not be just a passing political storm. In other times and places, this kind of quick decline in a prosperous nation has been a reliable sign of a full-on revolution brewing just ahead. 2. They Call It A Class War Marx called this one true, says Davies. Progressive modern democracies run on mutual trust between classes and a shared vision of the common good that binds widely disparate groups together. Now, we're also about to re-learn the historical lesson that liberals like flat hierarchies, racial and religious tolerance, and easy class mobility not because we're soft-headed and soft-hearted - but because, unlike short-sighted conservatives, we understand that tight social cohesion is our most reliable and powerful bulwark against the kinds of revolutions that bring down great economies, nations and cultures.
